  Discussion Board Guidelines

Project Construct National Center does not take responsibility for any expired or inaccurate links posted on the discussion board. Inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement of either the link or its contents by Project Construct National Center.

Be careful when posting or opening attachments (a computer file which is posted in conjunction with a message). The safest approach is to not open an attachment unless the poster has clearly identified the attachment. Attachments ending in .exe .cmd .bat .scr .scf and .pif deserve particular caution.

Project Construct National Center will not be responsible for any damage or loss as a result of participation on the discussion board.

The following is a list of guidelines for participation on the discussion board.

Read prior messages to get a sense of appropriate postings.

    Use clear subject headers.

Keep messages concise and relevant to the topic.

Don't post a message to the entire group when a personal e-mail to a specific individual will do (i.e., no spamming).

If you quote from a source, include the author's name, title of work, and publication information.

Don't post others' phone numbers, e-mail addresses, or other personal information unless you have permission.

Don't post photographs unless you have permission.

If you disagree with someone, it's a good idea to start a message by briefly restating, in your own words, what the other person has said.

If your response is more than three or four lines, break it up into paragraphs to make it easier to read.

When presenting a controversial point of view, identify whose view it is (e.g., "in my opinion" or "according to NAEYC").

If you have a question/comment about a particular child, be sure to hide any identifiable information about that child.

It's a good idea not to use all caps. IT GIVES THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE SHOUTING!

Criticize ideas, not people (i.e., don't get personal).

Advertisements and commercial solicitations are not permitted on the discussion board.
